Many tea enthusiasts asked if we have any Yiwu pu’erh tea. When it comes to Yiwu tea, the general style is “soft taste, high scent,” but Gua Feng Zhai is a one-of-a-kind tea that is not only soft but also has powerful Cha Qi and a wild note.

This tea was produced in 2019. We could smell the lovely fruity and honey aroma of its dry tea through two layers of unopened wrapping paper. After rinsing the tea leaves, the delicious nectar aroma begins to emerge. The liquid is thick from the first steep, the taste is mild but flavorful, and the aroma lingers in the mouth for a long time after drinking. It’s a rare raw pu’erh tea with a very long-lasting honey note in the bottom of the cup, even when brewed all the way to the finish.

In addition, Gua Feng Zhai is known as “The King of Transformation.” The excellent natural conditions and ecological environment have resulted in the high quality of Gua Feng Zhai, and with correct storage conditions, the converted tea will get better and more fragrant, resulting in a high collection value. Friends who enjoy raw tea should not pass it up.

Tea Garden

Gua Feng Zhai is one of the top ten famous Pu’erh tea villages, located at a wind-gap surrounded by mountains, where water runs from the front of the village and the wind goes through, hence the name “Gua Feng Village.” (刮风寨). It is the village with the highest altitude in Yiwu and the village with the least tea production, but the preservation of ancient tea trees here is the most complete. The journey to Gua Feng Zhai is extremely difficult. Aside from the small roadways, deep valleys, and steep hills, several areas of the road are prone to landslides. Gua Feng Zhai’s antique tea trees are concealed in the pristine forest. The vegetation is particularly luxuriant here, with covering rates as high as 70%. Because the ancient tea trees and other animals and plants have shared symbiosis here for hundreds of years without human intervention, the teas have a primal wild mountain flavor.

Origin

Gua Feng Zhai belongs to the Yiwu Mountains. The area is 2.74 square kilometers, he elevation is approximately 1200m, the annual average temperature is 17℃, and the annual precipitation is 2100mm. Gua Feng Zhai’s ancient trees are spread in a 50-square-kilometer virgin forest. The excellent natural conditions and ecological surroundings have provided the best conditions for the growth of these tea trees. Because the tea trees in the virgin forest are shaded by other trees, they receive less sunlight and grow at a slower rate, resulting in high-quality tea leaves with a thick taste, powerful wild mountain flavor, low bitterness, and speedy return to sweetness.

Tea Bush

This pu-erh tea is made from the large-leaf subspecies of the Yunnan large-leaf. It propagates sexually and takes the form of an arbour tree, meaning that it can grow to over six meters tall. 1984, the Fengqing large-leaf species was certified by the Chinese government as a national grade. It contains an abundance of tea polyphenols (30.2%) and catechins (13.4%), as well as 2.9% amino acids and 3.2% caffeine.
